Main Duties and Responsibilities:
– Comply with the professional practice standards for midwives
– Maintain good team work
– Follow up with pregnant women at the center to avoid complications
– Prepare pregnant women for birth through training exercises and educate women on personal hygiene
– Regulate fertility and birth spacing
– Provide counselling on maternal care and family planning
– Conduct periodic clinical examinations to prevent breast cancer
– Conduct screening for STIs and Pap smear tests
– Prevent contamination through cleaning material and sterilization of the medical equipment at the center
– Organize and keep complete basic health information and health files for pregnant women
– Conduct health education and awareness sessions with regards to reproductive health and its services in the Center and community outreach
– Educate mothers about the importance of breastfeeding and how to take care of their children with a focus on the theme of childhood immunization
– Ensure the availability of supplies and equipment needed for the obstetrics and gynecology clinic
