زار رئيس الحكومة نجيب ميقاتي ظهر اليوم رئيس مجلس النواب نبيه بري في عين التينة، حيث قدّم تعازيه لاستشهاد السيد حسن نصرالله والشهداء الآخرين. خلال اللقاء، أطلع ميقاتي الرئيس بري على تفاصيل الحركة الدبلوماسية التي قام بها في نيويورك في إطار اجتماعات الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة، والتي أظهرت دعماً كبيراً للبنان من عدة دول.

ميقاتي أكد أن لبنان مستعد لتطبيق قرار الأمم المتحدة رقم 1701، وأشار إلى أن الجيش اللبناني جاهز للانتشار في منطقة جنوب الليطاني بالتنسيق مع قوات حفظ السلام، فور وقف إطلاق النار. كما لفت إلى أن البيان الصادر عن دول كبرى مثل الولايات المتحدة، فرنسا، السعودية، وقطر، هو أمر مرحّب به من قبل الحكومة اللبنانية، وأكد التزام لبنان بتنفيذه.

فيما يخص الشؤون الداخلية، شدّد ميقاتي على الجهود المبذولة لمعالجة أزمة النازحين، وأوضح أن الحكومة تعمل بالتنسيق مع الجهات المانحة لتأمين المساعدات الضرورية. وأشار إلى أن جميع المساعدات سيتم توزيعها بشفافية عبر الأمم المتحدة لضمان وصولها إلى المحتاجين.

كما تطرّق اللقاء إلى مسألة انتخاب رئيس للجمهورية، حيث أكد بري أنه سيُدعى مجلس النواب للانعقاد فور توقف العمليات العسكرية لانتخاب رئيس توافقي.

Mikati from Ain al-Tineh: Ready to Implement Resolution 1701 and Deploy the Army to South of the Litani

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati met with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri at Ain al-Tineh today. During the meeting, Mikati expressed his condolences for the martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and other victims. He briefed Berri on the diplomatic efforts he undertook in New York during the United Nations General Assembly meetings, where Lebanon received significant international support.

Mikati reaffirmed Lebanon's readiness to implement UN Resolution 1701 and stated that the Lebanese army is prepared to deploy south of the Litani River in coordination with UN peacekeeping forces once a ceasefire is in place. He welcomed the statement issued by major countries such as the United States, France, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, and reiterated Lebanon's commitment to the terms outlined.

On the domestic front, Mikati highlighted the government's ongoing efforts to address the refugee crisis, noting that Lebanon is working closely with international donors to provide essential aid. He emphasized that all aid will be distributed transparently through the United Nations to ensure it reaches those in need.

The discussion also covered the presidential election, with Berri affirming that Parliament will be called to convene for the election of a consensus president as soon as hostilities cease.
