في إطار مكافحة الجرائم المستمرة في لبنان، أعلنت المديرية العامة لقوى الأمن الداخلي ـ شعبة العلاقات العامة عن تفاصيل اعتقال أفراد عصابة “الدولار المجمد”، وذلك ضمن خطة أمنية للحد من الجرائم المختلفة. العصابة التي كانت تروج لما يُسمى بـ “الدولار المجمد” عبر مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، كانت تعرض أموالًا بسعر أدنى من السعر الرسمي للدولار.

وتبدأ العملية الاحتيالية حينما يحدد أفراد العصابة موعدًا مع الضحية في مناطق مختلفة، ثم يقومون بسرقة أموال الضحية والفرار إلى جهة مجهولة. ووفقًا للمصادر، فقد وقع العديد من المواطنين ضحية لهذه العمليات الاحتيالية.

وأثناء متابعة قوى الأمن الداخلي، تم رصد سيارة رباعية الدفع من نوع “رانج روفر” تعود للعصابة، وتمت مراقبتهم أثناء تنفيذهم عملية احتيال في منطقة ضبية. وعندما حاولت قوى الأمن إلقاء القبض عليهم، بادر أفراد العصابة بإطلاق النار باتجاه الدورية، مما دفع العناصر للرد بالمثل. وقد فر الجناة تاركين السيارة والأموال المسروقة وراءهم.

تمكن الفريق الأمني من تحديد هويتي اثنين من أفراد العصابة وهما:

• م. م. (مواليد 1985، لبناني)

• ه. م. (مواليد 1999، لبناني)

من خلال المراقبة والتعقب، تم إلقاء القبض عليهما في زحلة ورياق، حيث عُثر بحوزتهما على مسدسين حربيين ومبلغ مالي. التحقيقات جارية بإشراف القضاء المختص، والعمل مستمر لإلقاء القبض على باقي أفراد العصابة.

As part of the continuous efforts to combat various crimes in Lebanon, the Lebanese Internal Security Forces (ISF) Public Relations Division issued a statement regarding the arrest of members of the “Frozen Dollar” gang. This gang had been promoting “frozen dollar” deals on social media platforms, offering money at a lower price than the official exchange rate.

The fraudulent operation would start when the gang members set a meeting with the victim in various areas, then rob them of their money and flee to an unknown location. According to sources, many citizens had fallen victim to these fraudulent operations.

During the ISF’s investigation, a four-wheel-drive “Range Rover” vehicle belonging to the gang was spotted. The gang was tracked while executing a fraud operation in the region of Dbayeh. When security forces attempted to arrest them, the gang members opened fire at the patrol, which forced the officers to return fire. The suspects fled, leaving the stolen money and vehicle behind.

After continued surveillance, the identities of two of the gang members were determined:

• M. M. (born 1985, Lebanese)

• H. M. (born 1999, Lebanese)

Through ongoing monitoring and pursuit, both individuals were arrested in Zahle and Ryak, where they were found in possession of two pistols and a sum of money. Investigations are ongoing under the supervision of the competent judiciary, and efforts continue to arrest the remaining members of the gang.
