JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for supporting the education team in the overall implementation of the education project in Beirut and Mount Lebanon.
S/he will assist in providing non-formal education programs to out of school children and/or youth.
The candidate will closely work with refugee communities to ensure community mobilization and engagement throughout the implementation of the activities.
MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Activities
- Participates in the planning and implementation of the non-formal education activities including: outreach, community mobilization, awareness session, training, basic literacy and numeracy.
- Identifies out of school children and ensures their enrolment in the program.
- Handles work-related data entry and input.
- Ensures proper monitoring of the implementation process of the project.
- Supports the capacity building and learning process of the community groups.
- Refers specific cases to different services whenever required.
- Planning, preparing and delivering lessons according to the curriculum.
- Assessing and reporting on the behavior and progress of students.
- Ensuring highest standards of quality and applying up-to-date teaching methods.
- Attending and taking part in staff meetings to support the smooth running of the program.
- Collaborating with parents, carers, and staff to safeguard and ensure the educational welfare of the students.
- Flexibility to teach in rotation among the 3 BLN centers (Barja, Bourj Al Barajneh and Bourj Hammoud)
Generic Duties
- Follow Caritas Lebanon operational policy and procedures
- Respect the internal policies and procedures for example: dress code, attendance, discipline, etc.
- Complete schedules, activity planners, monitor staff availability and act against any shortfalls
- Resolve any staff issues and escalate any unresolved issue to the related manager
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
JOB KNOWLEDGE
Academic
Bachelor Degree in Education, Social Work, Social Sciences, Sociology, Animation or any related field.
Other Qualifications
Communication, writing, analytical and negotiation skills.
Related Work Experience
2 years of experience in related field.
Computer Literacy
MS-Word / MS-Excel – Intermediate level.
