Programs’ Manager:

Position reports to “Executive Director”

Purpose Summary

The Programs manager (PM) is responsible to oversee the planning, implementation, and execution of all ANND programs, in coordination with Senior Advisors.

The Programs’ Manager is accountable to ensuring that the programs and projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.

Key responsibilities on the Programs level:
Establish for each program the documentations, work plans and project proposals for fundraising in Line with ANND strategic plans and in coordination with the advisors.
Lead the day-to-day operations of the programs department and ensure that policies and procedures are being followed, that goals and objectives are met, and that projects are being accomplished efficiently and effectively; take corrective actions as necessary;
Manage the budget related to each program in close coordination with ANND financial manager;

Key responsibilities on the research Level:
Support the research Lead in rolling out research plan.
Perform quality control for policy papers.

Key responsibilities on the advocacy Level:
Consult with the Advisers to ensure that all ANND Advocacy initiatives are in line with ANND’s strategic directions.

Key responsibilities on the capacity building level:
Ensure that capacity building efforts to the network members and staff are done in line ANND strategy.
Contribute to capacity building activities in identifying participants, trainers and act as a resource person as needed.

Key responsibilities on the networking and coordination Level:
Initiate, nurture and follow up contacts with local, regional and international partners including donors, stakeholders, network members….
Support the Executive Director and Advisors in high-level activities as required.

Key responsibilities on the media and communication level:
Coordinate with the communication manager and ensure that all developments around program activities are reflected and updated on ANND website, newsletter and social media outlets.

Key responsibilities on the monitoring and evaluation level:
Ensure that all quality management standards are followed: I.E Monitoring System, Indicators Tracking Table (ITT), Work Plan (WP) and reporting.
Ensure learning and adaptation of lessons learned in ANND programs and strategies this include identifying successful strategy that can be scaled up and areas for improvement that can be addressed to increase program relevance, coherence, efficiency , effectiveness, sustainability and impact.

Job Qualifications and Skill Sets: Education and Work experience:
Masters Degree in any of the following disciplines (Economics, International Affairs, Political Science, and International Law) or any equivalent professional qualification.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in program management in NGO or any non-profit sector.
Full understanding of civil society’s role and position in the Arab Region.
Working experience on development issues, civil society role in policy making and advocacy, human rights with a focus on Social and Economic rights.
Experience in Proposal writing and good knowledge of reporting requirements.
Proven experience in managing a team in a multicultural environment.

Job Qualifications and Skill Sets: Knowledge and Personal Qualities:
Commitment to and understanding of ANND’s mission, vision and objectives
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to prioritize workload, manage time and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently under own initiative and as part of a team
Arabic and English proficiency, French is a plus.
Knowledge and ability to use computers and related technology effectively; including applications such as word processors, spreadsheets, email programs’ internet use, including web browsing, online research, and social media.
