The Social worker is responsible for the case management. She works with people to support them through difficult times and ensure that vulnerable people, including children and adults are safeguarded from harm. The role is to provide support to enable service users to help themselves maintaining a professional relationship with service users, acting as guides and advocates.
MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Activities
- .Provide individual case management for children in accordance with all case management steps
- .Apply the National SoPs for child protection case management, including the use of Best Interests Assessments (BiA) and Best Interests Determination (BiD) procedures when are requested or needed
- .Ensure proper follow up on all actions to be considered for individual cases till achieving desired results
- .Report the critical cases for final approval on the actions to be taken
- .Respond to emergency cases and run the 24-hour helpline for urgent cases
- .Communicate and coordinate with other caseworkers and service providers in order to advocate, collaborate and conduct (internal and external) referrals according to the best interests of children
- .Accompany children to investigations in police stations and hearings in courts
- .Prepare progress monthly reports on cases and on activities implemented
- .Update weekly the beneficiaries list
- .Work occasionally on weekends or after the working hours for very urgent cases
- .Participate in training, conferences and attend meetings
- .Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Generic Duties
- .Follow Caritas Lebanon operational policy and procedures
- .Respect the internal policies and procedures for example: dress code, attendance, discipline, etc.
- .Complete schedules, activity planners, monitor staff availability and act against any shortfalls
- .Resolve any staff issues and escalate any unresolved issue to the related manager
JOB KNOWLEDGE
Academic
.Bachelor degree in social worker
Other Qualifications
.Communication, writing, analytical and negotiation skills
Related Work Experience
.2 to 3 years of experience in related field
Language skills
.English, Arabic and French
Computer Literacy
.MS-Word / MS-Excel – Intermediate level
