وجاء في البيان أنه بتاريخ 29 تموز 2025، وعند اقتراب سيارة تقل مواطنًا لبنانيًا وآخر سوريًا من نقطة مراقبة حدودية تابعة للجيش اللبناني، ترجّل الشخصان وأطلقا النار باتجاه البلدة بطريقة وُصفت بـ”المريبة والعدائية”.

According to the army, on July 29, 2025, a car carrying a Lebanese citizen and a Syrian national approached a border surveillance checkpoint in the town of Mutraba – Al-Qasr. The two men reportedly stepped out of the vehicle and opened fire toward the town in what the army described as a suspicious and hostile act.

When soldiers stationed at the checkpoint issued verbal warnings, the gunmen attempted to flee and ram their car into the army personnel, prompting direct retaliatory fire that resulted in the death of the Lebanese national and injuries to the Syrian.
