I.Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Project manager, the Early Childhood Development (ECD) and nutrition officer will be responsible for facilitating and ensuring optimal implementation of the nutrition, Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) and ECD components in all governorates of Lebanon. The ECD and nutrition officer will provide technical support to the design, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the ECD and nutrition related activities.
II.Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Provide technical support in the design, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the ECD and nutrition related activities.
- Collaborate with partner organizations and relevant stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and implementation of activities.
- Conduct regular field visits to project sites to assess the project’s implementation, identify challenges, and provide on-the-ground support to project teams.
- Work closely with project staff to identify capacity-building needs and develop training plans and materials on topics related to ECD and nutrition.
- Revise and update the related training and educational materials as needed.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops for project staff to enhance their knowledge and skills in ECD and nutrition.
- Represent the organization in relevant meetings and working groups related to ECD, nutrition, and child health, and actively participate in coordination efforts at the national level, and regional level when necessary.
- Develop reports and tools needed for the implementation of the activities and ensure timely reporting of the activities to the Project manager and the M&E department at IOCC.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
III.Qualifications
A.Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Good organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and initiative taker.
- Good report writing skills.
- Dynamic personality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English; French is a plus.
B.Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of work experience.
- Previous experience in ECD, Nutrition and IYCF programs.
- Previous experience in coordination and management.
- Experience working for an NGO preferred.
