How can you make a difference?

The WASH Officer (Monitoring and Reporting) reports to the Chief of WASH (Level 5) The WASH Officer provides technical, operational, and administrative assistance throughout the WASH programming process with particular focus on monitoring and reporting. The Officer provides providing professional expertise and assistance in information/data collection, statistics and data analysis, monitoring, preparation of reports, communication, and partnership, and in implementing training programmes for national and sub-national data collection information management and monitoring the WASH outcome and output results of the country programme.

  1. WASH rolling work plans and monitoring plans
  2. Situation monitoring and assessment
  3. WASH programme performance monitoring
  4. Reporting
  5. Information management and documentation
  6. Monitoring and reporting capacity building

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Education: University degree in social sciences, development planning, planning, information management, survey implementation, advanced statistical research or other relevant subject.
    • Additional relevant post-graduate courses that complement/supplement the main degree are a strong asset.
  • Experience: Two years of professional work experience in programme development and implementation (preferably in WASH area) including monitoring and reporting activities as follows:
    • Relevant professional work experience in developing country is highly desirable.
    • At least one instance of exposure to emergency programming, including preparedness planning. Active involvement in a humanitarian crisis response programme preferred.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance.  Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station, which will be facilitated by UNICEF, is required for IP positions. Appointments may also be subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2

(Covid). Government employees that are considered for employment with UNICEF are normally required to resign from their government before taking up an assignment with UNICEF. UNICEF reserves the right to withdraw an offer of appointment, without compensation, if a visa or medical clearance is not obtained, or necessary inoculation requirements are not met, within a reasonable period for any reason.

UNICEF does not charge any fee during any stage of the recruitment process.
